Learn about the WTF website's cookie policy

1. What Cookies are and how we use them

Cookies are small text files that are stored on the user's computer when they visit certain websites. In some cases, they are deleted after the visit. In other cases, they are kept for subsequent visits. The use of cookies when accessing websites is common practice and the various browsers allow each user to refuse their use, as well as delete those that have already been created.

As páginas de internet of the NOS group companies, some of their applications and online services may use cookies to improve user navigation on the various company websites, making it simpler and faster, allowing for a more interesting and dynamic browsing experience, and to better understand users' tastes, interests and behaviors in aggregate form. For example, on certain websites the user can select a background or a city, and this preference will be remembered on subsequent visits.

If you do not wish to use cookies, you can still browse NOS websites, although some features may no longer exist or their performance may be limited. To find out how to limit the use of cookies, see the instructions in point 3.

2. What types of Cookies we use

Cookies on websites, applications and online services fall into the following categories:

COOKIES essential for service provision

Cookies that enable the use of websites and applications and their functionalities. For example, without these cookies, services such as the shopping cart or access to your customer area cannot be provided. These cookies do not collect information that identifies the user since all the information collected is aggregated and treated anonymously, nor do they allow monitoring of users' browsing activity on non NOS websites.

Service analysis COOKIES

Cookies that collect information about how NOS websites, applications and services are used, such as which websites are most visited. This information can be used to help NOS improve its websites, applications and services and make them easier to use. These cookies also allow us to know if visits to NOS websites and applications have resulted from campaigns promoted by NOS or if these visits are related to the purchase of a product or service. These cookies do not collect information that identifies the user since all the information collected is aggregated and treated anonymously, nor do they allow monitoring of users' browsing activity on websites that are not NOS websites.

Personalization COOKIES

Cookies that allow NOS websites, applications and services to recognize users' choices when they use our services. For example, when accessing the first page of the website, these cookies make it possible to identify whether a version for individuals or a version for companies should be displayed. They can also be used to know which highlights or promotions have already been presented to the user, avoiding the presentation of repeated highlights or promotions. These cookies are not used to monitor the browsing activity of Users on websites other than those of NOS Group companies.

Advertising COOKIES

Cookies used by companies external to NOS, making it possible to present users with advertisements according to their interests, including the possibility of limiting the number of times a particular advertisement is shown. The presentation of NOS advertising according to the interests of users implies that information relating to the interests expressed by the content of NOS websites, applications and services is included. It also means that we will present offers or promotions that we consider to be of interest to users, and to improve the way we respond to your needs.

Third-party COOKIES

First-party cookies originate from the same domain as the website or application visited (in this case, www.wtf.pt).

Third-party cookies originate from a different domain than the website visited. For example, when a user visits our website we may link to another company's website - such as your social media account or a YouTube video on our page. When, for example, on Facebook or Instagram you "Like" a product or service featured on our website, these social networks may place cookies in your browser. NOS does not control the use of these cookies and, therefore, we advise you to consult the respective websites to find out how these cookies are used and how they can be managed by you.

It may happen that products or services from NOS Group companies that use a different domain name may also place cookies on our website or application to show you advertisements or pages from other NOS Group companies of interest to you.
